Step-by-Step Guide to Unlocking Your Device's Bootloader

Step 1: Prepare Your Device

  1. Connect Phone to PC:

    • Insert a SIM card with a working data connection into your phone.
    • Use a USB cable to connect your phone to the PC.
  2. Enable USB Debugging:

    • Navigate to Settings > About Phone.
    • Tap Build Number (or MIUI Version) 7 times to enable Developer Options.
    • Go to Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
  3. Allow OEM Unlock:

    • In Developer Options, enable OEM Unlocking.
  4. Set Default USB Configuration:

    • In Developer Options, set Default USB Configuration to File Transfer.

Step 2: Prepare for Bootloader Unlock

  1. Check Mi Unlock Status:

    • Open Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options > Mi Unlock Status.
    • Sign in with your Mi Account. If you don’t have one, create a new account.
  2. Download and Extract Mi Unlock Tool:

    • Download the Xiaomi Unlock Bootloader Tool on your PC.
    • Extract the downloaded files into a folder.
  3. Copy APK Files to Phone:

    • Inside the extracted folder, find the APK files corresponding to your Android version (e.g., Android 13 or 14).
    • Copy these APK files to your phone using the File Transfer mode.
  4. Install APK Files:

    • Open your phone's file manager.
    • Locate and manually install the copied APK files.

Step 3: Bypass Debugging Restrictions

  1. Run Bypass Command:

    • In the extracted folder, locate the php folder and run the bypass.cmd file.
    • When prompted on your phone, allow USB Debugging.
  2. Recheck Mi Unlock Status:

    • Go to Settings > Mi Unlock Status.
    • Add your Mi Account again. If it fails, retry until the bypass command shows success.

Step 4: Unlock the Bootloader

  1. Open Mi Unlock Tool:

    • Close any unnecessary applications.
    • Launch the Mi Unlock Tool program from the extracted folder.
  2. Reboot to Fastboot Mode:

    • Power off your device.
    • Press and hold Volume Down + Power Button simultaneously to enter Fastboot Mode.
  3. Connect to Unlock Tool:

    • Use the Mi Unlock Tool dashboard to detect your phone in Fastboot Mode.
  4. Unlock the Bootloader:

    • Follow the on-screen instructions in the Mi Unlock Tool to unlock the bootloader.
    • This process may take a few minutes and requires internet connectivity.

Note:

Unlocking the bootloader will erase all data on your device. Ensure you back up your important data before proceeding.
